Ninefold targets WCAG 2.2 AA for its core play flows.
Input
Create, join, lobby, and gameplay controls support keyboard and touch operation with visible focus.
Zoom, contrast, and motion
Core routes reflow at 200% zoom and compact widths without hiding gameplay controls. Board cells remain at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels; primary controls and the number pad remain at least 44 by 44. Light and dark themes meet the project contrast checks, and reduced-motion preferences suppress nonessential transitions.
Tested support
Automated checks run in current Chromium with axe-core, keyboard-only scenarios, compact and 200% zoom layouts, dark mode, and reduced motion. Semantic review covers board, Lobby, connection, result, replay, and Solo states. Ninefold targets WCAG 2.2 AA; this is a product target, not a third-party certification.
Known limitations
Active spectator presentation is intentionally limited in this release. Browser and assistive-technology combinations can behave differently; please report the browser, assistive technology, route, and action if something is unclear.
Board semantics
Sudoku cells expose row, column, clue, value, notes, contributor, conflict, and pending state to assistive technology.
Display preferences
The interface supports light and dark themes, reduced motion, text expansion, and reflow at 200% zoom.
Feedback
Connection, readiness, errors, and player identity use text and shapes rather than color alone.
